Why these four cities

Plano, Allen, McKinney and Frisco are neighboring North Dallas communities with a large stock of apartment communities, HOA-managed neighborhoods, retail centers and office parks, which is where privately maintained walkways are concentrated. They are close enough to each other that a single contractor can reasonably serve all four. The site describes the area by city rather than as "DFW" or as a county because city and county boundaries do not line up neatly here, and because each city has its own route for reporting public sidewalks.

Intended coverage versus active coverage

The cities listed here are the audience this site is written for. The notice near every inquiry form states the current operating mode. When a verified provider covers a city, this hub names it and states its coverage and any minimum or timing with a date, and the how it works page explains how that provider is identified to you. Per-city detail is held back until each city's own pages have been opened and the local facts confirmed; nothing about a city is published here on the strength of a search result. Sending an inquiry from any of these cities is not a booking; the operator reviews every inquiry and responds with the next step.

Private and common-area scope

Everything on this site concerns walkways that a private party maintains: paths within an apartment community, HOA common-area sidewalks, retail and office frontages and internal walkways, and similar. Whether a particular walkway is private or public is not always obvious, especially at a property line or along a street where the sidewalk sits in a public easement. Establishing this is the first thing to do. The official resource for each city publishes here once it has been checked against that city's own pages and dated.

Public path reporting

Who maintains a sidewalk along a public street varies by city. Some cities repair them; Allen's pages, as indexed, put maintenance on the adjacent owner. Before choosing between a city report and a private repair, check the applicable city's rule with that city directly. Reporting routes for the four cities publish here as each is confirmed against the city's own pages and dated. This site does not report public sidewalks on anyone's behalf and does not tell a manager to pay privately for a section the city maintains, or to wait for the city on a section the owner is responsible for.

Outside the four cities

Inquiries from nearby places such as Fairview or Lucas, or from elsewhere in the region, are welcome as information requests. They are recorded as "other" and are not treated as in-area.
